This non-contact, metered coating method provides excellent coverage and a uniform coating layer, regardless of coat weight requirements. The Crosscoats process is superior to traditional contact coating methods because a molten sheet of resin or adhesive is formed before it is exposed to the substrate, resulting in coating coverage that is virtually guaranteed to be free of streaks and pin holes. The uniform thickness and defect-free coating characteristics make this process particularly attractive for applications such as barrier coating, flexible packaging and clear-on-clear labels.
